A Golden Skin, even in Autumn!
How to prolong your tan: a few simple and effective tips for golden skin, even in Autumn.
The beloved tan that we have enjoyed during our days at the beach or in the mountains, has a limited lifespan. When we come back from our holidays we know that, in a fortnight, our golden tan will start to fade a little at a time, leaving us with our original paler colour.
Once back in town, there are a few things we can do to make our tan last a few more days and to make us feel like we’re still on holiday. The products of the Body Insight line will also help us. Let’s get started!
Keyword: Hydration
Drinking plenty of water can help keep you hydrated, and if your body is sufficiently hydrated, your skin will benefit too. Green tea, freshly squeezed juices and flavoured waters are also perfect, as they also help to replenish valuable vitamins and minerals.
For more intense hydration, it is essential to use a body cream or lotion to ensure that we keep our skin supple and intact, preserving our tan.
The Power of a Good Exfoliation
In addition to moisturising, regular exfoliation, both before and after sun exposure, is a great way to get rid of dead skin cells and ensure an even and long-lasting tan. Choosing the right scrub is important: a scrub that is too aggressive will leave the skin with micro-scratches and small lesions, but if it is too mild, it will not be able to exfoliate adequatedly. That’s why, Insight has formulated a body scrub with particles of grounded rose quartz and cherry kernel for a gentle, natural exfoliating action. These particles are suspended in a nourishing formula that promotes hydration and elasticity, and prepares the skin to absorb all the subsequent hydration.
To give your complexion a boost, you can apply a few drops of self-tanner into your moisturiser to develop a gradual and even golden hue, day after day.
Things to Avoid
On the contrary, there are things to avoid, which could have the opposite effect on our tan:
- Indulge in long hot baths. Indulging in long hot baths. It’s certainly a relaxing habit, but doing it too consistently could have a damaging effect on the skin. The ideal thing to do is to opt for quick showers in lukewarm water, to avoid stressing the skin and damaging the hydrolipidic film which protects it;
- Cleansing products that contain aggressive surfactants can irritate the skin and cause widespread redness and discomfort. The ideal is to choose a shower gel that contains effective but more delicate surfactants, such as Insight Body Cleanser, a dermocompatible cleanser rich in moisturising, antioxidant and soothing ingredients, dermatologically tested on sensitive skin and ICEA Eco Bio Certified.
- Expose to the sun wirhout protection. Although it may feel like we are tanning more quickly, exposing ourselves to the sun without adequate protection can have harmful effects on our skin and health. Skin exposed to UV rays without a sun protection also ages faster, due to the oxidative stress it undergoes.
Diet can Help
Incorporating seasonal fruit and vegetables into our diet is a great way to get your fill of vitamins and minerals that help you get an even and long-lasting tan. Radicchio, pumpkin, melon, cherries, tomatoes… a balanced diet that follows the seasonality of the products is an excellent choice from many points of view, and from today we give you one more reason!
