The beloved tan that we have enjoyed during our days at the beach or in the mountains, has a limited lifespan. When we come back from our holidays we know that, in a fortnight, our golden tan will start to fade a little at a time, leaving us with our original paler colour.

The Power of a Good Exfoliation

Choosing the right scrub is important: a scrub that is too aggressive will leave the skin with micro-scratches and small lesions, but if it is too mild, it will not be able to exfoliate adequatedly.   • Indulge in long hot baths. Indulging in long hot baths. It’s certainly a relaxing habit, but doing it too consistently could have a damaging effect on the skin. The ideal thing to do is to opt for quick showers in lukewarm water, to avoid stressing the skin and damaging the hydrolipidic film which protects it;  
  • Cleansing products that contain aggressive surfactants can irritate the skin and cause widespread redness and discomfort. Good habits have been known to make a difference only when applied consistently. Yet, we often lose interest in a practice when we don’t see immediate results, and we abandon it after a few initial attempts. But as with all things, patience and consistency always pay off, especially when it comes to body care.

A regular body routine, using the right products will bring its results after a few weeks: the skin on the body will appear more toned, hydrated and firm, especially during the winter months, when dehydration and dryness are always around the corner.

The steps to follow are not many, and simpler than you may think. Let’s go through them together!

The ideal body routine starts with exfoliation

Whether it’s a scrub, a peel, mitt or brush, the goal is always the same: exfoliate. There are many ways to get rid of dead cells sitting on the surface of the epidermis, and make room for new ones, rediscovering brighter, firmer and more even skin. 

  • Body Scrub. Probably the best known and most widely used option. It consists of a cream that contains suspended particles with mildly abrasive power, which are able to remove the surface layer of dead cells from the epidermis. These particles can consist of sugar, oat or almond powder, or cherry kernel and quartz powder, as in the INSIGHT Body Scrub, the perfect product for gentle but effective exfoliation.
     
  • Dry Brushing. This is a practice that involves brushing the body with a special brush with semi-hard bristles to promote microcirculation, oxygenate the tissues and at the same time perform a gentle “dry” exfoliation of the body. It is recommended to do this operation in the morning, perhaps before showering, on dry skin, so as to awaken circulation after the night hours.
     
  • Chemical exfoliation. Performs the same function as mechanical exfoliation, but instead of doing it by friction, it does so through the action of chemical molecules. The most commonly used exfoliants for this purpose are certain fruit acids, such as glycolic acid or lactic acid, which help speed up cell turnover. Another ingredient also increasingly used for body products is retinol. Within lotions or cleansers, it helps eliminate the topmost layer of the epidermis, improving and evening out the skin’s texture and complexion.

     

Step 2: An invigorating shower

After exfoliating, it’s time for a nice invigorating shower. Choose an effective but gentle cleanser, and prefer lukewarm showers to long, hot baths, which could weaken the skin barrier in the long run.

Looking for a shower cleanser with a gentle formula that will leave your skin cleansed and hydrated? INSIGHT has created a body cleanser formulated with non-ethoxylated surfactants. What this means is that its formula is more gentle and highly dermocompatible. If, on the other hand, your skin is normal, you can choose a lighter and fast-absorbing lotion, even with a liquid texture.

Extra pampering for dry areas

Colour matching is not a science, but people often get it wrong. Colour theory should never be about what colours you can and can’t wear – it’s more about selecting the shade that will best flatter your complexion.

Hair & fashion colour rules are mere guidelines, so you don’t have to worry about taking your hair colour to extremes and following the strict colouring guidelines, carrying swatches of your best colours along to the shops & salons! This guide provides suggestions which are not set in stone – while wearing colours that flatter your complexion is always handy, style is a form of self-expression.

The perfect colouring represents the goal of every hairdresser and the desire of every client:

Whether it’s white hair coverage or more elaborate techniques, every hairdresser always wants to get a perfect colour, to satisfy the expectations of their customers to the maximum.

To achieve this goal, it is important to follow some simple technical precautions, which are often taken for granted: we analyse below the fundamental steps that will lead us to the correct application of INCOLOR.

The first thing to consider is the base colour. Regrowth, lengths, and ends must be examined separately, to determine: the height of tone, the reflex or nuance, and if the colour is natural or artificial. It will be necessary to understand what the necessary colour steps are, the tone to achieve the goal, and establish the background pigment.

The front and back should be analysed separately, determining the exact percentage of white hair. The structure of the hair is certainly another variable to consider: normal, thin or thick? Delicate or resistant? Chemically treated? porous or heavily damaged? These are characteristics that can influence the final result of the colouring process.

EPIDERMAL TEST

INSIGHT INCOLOR has a highly dermo-compatible formulation, but we know that some allergies or other skin problems can develop over time, even after many years of using the same product. For this reason, before each application of colour, it is recommended to perform a skin sensitivity test to check if the customer has an intolerance to the product. If itching or redness is noted, it is likely that there is sensitivity to some component of the product, and therefore the colour should not be applied. If, on the other hand, the test gave a positive effect (so no itching or redness occurred), you can proceed with the application. 

APPLICATION TECHNIQUES

In everyday life it is easy for everyday operations to be underestimated, as they are considered simple and taken for granted. So let’s see below what are the steps to follow for an optimal and safe colouring job. 

Before starting, we recommend applying a protective product on the face contour, such as the Skin Protector, to protect the client’s skin. Do not forget the importance of the operator’s use of protective gloves. 

It is possible to obtain technically perfect and impressive results by following a few basic rules during the preparation of the color mixture:

  • The doses must be precise to obtain a constant result;
  • The use of a scale is always recommended, to weigh the right quantities;
  • Never use metal bowls or tools; Use the product immediately after preparation.
  • Before using INCOLOR, do not wash your hair, but brush it carefully to remove any residues of lacquers or fixers.

It is possible to make a delicate shampoo only in case of dirty hair or too full of residues of finish products; after a short drying time, apply the colouring mixture.

APPLICATION AND WASHING INSTRUCTIONS

The colour must be deposited accurately and evenly with the brush, avoiding “swiping” the brush to avoid removing the colour just deposited. The laying time is determined by the desired result, the essential thing is that it falls within the minimum and maximum range of the times indicated. By rinsing the product before the minimum time (35 minutes), inaccurate and incomplete results are created. The indicated shutter speeds are recommended for INCOLOR to ensure optimal performance. Once the exposure time is complete, emulsify the color, avoiding massaging the skin too much.

When rinsing, pour the water in small quantities, continuing to gently massage the scalp and hair to ensure that the product’s self-washing power exerts its full effect. Rinse the product until it is completely eliminated from the skin and hair. Cleanse with Post Chemistry Shampoo to fix the colour and eliminate residues. Condition and treat with Post Chemistry Mask. This procedure restores the pH, eliminates swelling of the cuticle, and prevents colour discharge.

HOW TO TAKE CARE OF COLOURED HAIR?

It is advisable to wash your hair with a hair protective shampoo. This way you will get a more intense brightness and protect the colour, to eliminate from fading. Professional stylists agree that hydration is essential to maintain colour. We recommend to use a protective mask once a week, apply to wet hair, distributing evenly. Leave on 5 / 10 minutes. Rinse thoroughly.

Retouching the colour is not advisable to dye before 6-8 weeks. And if what you want is a radical colour change, for example a platinum blonde and your base is very dark, experts recommend doing it gradually. HYDRA-COLOR ® BLEND: what is it and how does it work?

Hydra-Color® Blend is an innovative blend of esters of natural origin (Lauryl Lactate, Octyldodecyl Lactate, Tristearyl Citrate), derivatives of lactic and citric acids, which exerts a protective, but above all moisturising action.

During the colouring, by cleavage, from these esters derive:

  • Acids capable of buffering the pH present on the skin
  • Neutral salts formed by the combination with released ammonia, for example ammonium lactate, a component of NMF, which is a fundamental factor for skin and capillary hydration. In this way the water is retained inside the hair.

+ Plant Phytokeratin

Composed of hydrolyzed proteins of wheat, corn and soy, with amino acids similar to those found in hair and nails, it strengthens the hair fibre. It also adds volume and shine.

+ Organic Argan Oil

Referred to as “liquid gold” thanks to its beneficial effects, Argan Oil is considered a real elixir of youth. Being rich in Vitamin E, linoleic acid, omega 3 and 6 and essential fatty acids, it fights the action of free radicals, promoting hair elasticity. It also makes them softer and easier to comb, protecting them during colouring.
